The Experience
Before Booking
The first step to booking with me is... well, booking with me! But if you're not ready to book just yet, that's okay- book a consultation call with me first. We can talk through all of the details of the session from where we are shooting, to meeting times, and discuss which products you are most interested in creating.
This is a great first step, as each and every session is customized to create art that fits perfectly into your home and lifestyle. You don't need to make final purchasing decisions at this time, but having an idea on how you might like to display your images will influence how I shoot the session. For instance, if you're considering hanging artwork on a skinnier wall it's helpful to know so that I can create some images in a portrait orientation.

The Session
Yippee! It’s time to play! The session is a strictly stress-free time. We'll let your furry family lead the way and will take plenty of breaks as we explore the area. Don't be concerned if your dog doesn’t want to sit or if he's more interested in all of the exciting sights and smells around us. I promise that even if it feels like they aren’t listening or we have to set up the shot numerous times, it’s fine. It’s expected and I promise that we are creating incredible images!

My dog can’t be off-leash! Is that ok?
Yes! Most of the dogs that I photograph remain on-leash throughout the entire session for their safety. I can even capture some action shots with a special long line... all while keeping your pup safe and sound! The leash is removed through the magic of Photoshop from any ordered image.
What about harnesses and gentle leaders, can those be removed?
I can't guarantee that I will be able to remove the harness or gentle leaders from your final image, especially large harnesses that cover the majority of the dog’s chest. If your dog usually walks in a harness or a gentle leader, I recommend using those to walk them to the session and in between shooting locations, but if there is any way to have your dog in a regular flat collar that is ideal. If you have a sighthound, or other dog that can easily slip out of a flat collar, martingale collars are ok and preferred over harnesses.
Where should we have our session?
The vast majority of my images are created on my own property! I live on 7 acres of private land, including grassy and wooded areas, and fenced in yards for extra security. If you have another location in mind I'm more than happy to shoot there, and I have a few other locations I can suggest as well to achieve the look you want.
What if it rains? What if I need to reschedule?
We will try our best to hold our session at the agreed upon date and time, however sometimes Mother Nature has other plans and we will definitely reschedule. If you or our furry model is feeling under the weather, kindly let me know we need to reschedule as soon as you realize.
The Grand Reveal
We'll meet again about a week or two after our session to go over all of the images, choose your favorites, and finalize your order together. Your files then move into production where they are transformed into gorgeous custom artwork that you will love for a lifetime.
